The “Letter Wall” – is the centre-piece of the exhibition and is designed to illustrate the huge number and variety of letters in the collection.
Measuring 2.5 m x 2.5 m, the Letter Wall occupies one whole wall in the gallery and, in the background, displays 154 letters from all over the country, expressing hope, anxiety and anger over the seemingly endless imprisonment of their loved-ones and the lack of information.
In the foreground six letters are highlighted to show some of the issues that the writers were concerned about.
